Friends of Bezaleel
Meet Some Bezaleel Supporters, all of the businesses and institutions listed below have been significant partners with Bezaleel over the last several years.

Mennonite Central Committee provides Bezaleel with two full time volunteers giving assistence in the area of administration and teaching. Mennonite Central Committee donated a shipment of canned turkey to help bring down Bezaleel food expenses. MCC also provides funds for women's literacy and Saturday adult education among the K'ekchi' Mennonite Church. Two years ago MCC assisted Bezaleel with a major part of the cost of drilling a well for the campus water supply. Currently MCC is partnering with Bezaleel and Heifer Project International for a small livestock project.

Mennonite.net provides Bezaleel with the Website that you are looking at now. Mennonite.net has made a donation to Bezaleel of this Website space. The good people at Mennonite.net have also provided technical advice and assistance in the making of this web site.

Lehman's Hardware has generously assisted Bezaleel. Lehman's Hardware is a unique source for non electric items since 1955. Anabaptist principles of honesty, hard work, fairness and value shape the Lehman's business philosophy. From wood cookstoves to oil lamps, apple peelers to grain mills, Lehman's sells the world's largest collecion of products that don't require electricity, both fun and functional. In business since 1955, they now bring their non-electric products to the Web!

Far and away the most important source of funding for Bezaleel comes from individual donors, many of whom are of the Mennonite Church in Canada or of the Mennonite Church U.S.A. This faith perspective, as it is expressed among the K'ekchi' Mennonite Church, shapes Bezaleel's mission and vision. It is also the reason behind the sharing and support that allows Bezaleel to continue. Individual donations account for a large part of the funds that Bezaleel needs to continue. This collaboration is more than just money changing hands, it represents real international, inter-cultural solidarity and stands as a hallmark of the Anabaptist movement.

The Loewen Family Foundation supported Bezaleel's Vocational Skills development program in its inicial year with a significant grant which provided the needed funds to begin the program. Loewen is a Steinbach, Manitoba-based company that manufactures and markets Douglas Fir windows and doors to beautiful homes around the world. The C.P. Loewen Family Foundation, established in 1973, provides funding to non-profit organizations that reflect the values of Loewen: education, faith, environment, alleviation of poverty, community building and respect and tolerance for all individuals. For more information, visit Loewen and the Loewen Family Foundation.

Heifer Project International is currently assisting Bezaleel to function as a center for a project for food security and income generation among the communities that Bezaleel serves. This small livestock project will reach 163 families in 8 K'ekchi' communities over the next three years. This project has involves three major players: Mennonite Central Committee, Heifer Project International and Bezaleel (under Fundameno).
